About Phil Scott
Local dad, proud Territorian and community advocate
I'm a proud Territorian, community worker, sports enthusiast, and dad of three who moved to Darwin after falling in love with its laid back lifestyle, natural beauty and community spirit. I'm working to protect what makes the Top End special while tackling the big challenges we face—from the cost of living to creating more local jobs.
Community builder and strategic change-maker
With a background in community development, capacity building, and social program design, I have worked across public, private and NGO sectors to empower local communities, secure vital funding, and drive meaningful change. My professional experience also includes educating future changemakers in my capacity as a university lecturer, fostering collaboration to creating opportunities for sustainable growth.
Why I'm Running
Let's put people before politics
I'm running because Darwin and Palmerston deserve better than being taken for granted by the major parties. It’s time for real change, not more of the same old politics. Locals want someone who listens, fights for real solutions, and puts the community first. That’s exactly what I’ve spent my life doing, and that’s what I’ll do as your independent voice in Parliament.
Committed to our local community
Since moving to Darwin I've dedicated myself to building a stronger, fairer community—helping to stop dodgy projects that threatened our water supply, campaigned for cheaper power bills, and worked to create better opportunities for local families. Where others prefer to talk about problems, and finger point, I prefer to get to work to find practical, people-focused solutions that make a real difference to Territorians.
