EDUCATION & SUPPORT - FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD TO RESEARCH

Education is the foundation of our future. I will work and advocate to:

• Invest in everyone's future in Palmerston and Darwin by giving our youngest generation the best possible start - quality early childhood care, health and education.
• Boost support for new parents - and all parents and carers - to provide their children with secure and nourishing care.
• Resolve the distressing issues in our childcare sector to guarantee every child is safe and secure, and all our educators are supported, valued and properly paid.   
• Ensure all Territory kids have access to quality education by making full needs-based funding a high priority.
• Secure support for school children and with developmental or behavioural disorders, and their families, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis - take the pressure off teachers, so they can teach.
• Support fee-free TAFE and apprenticeship incentives to develop skills for our future economy.
• Work with Charles Darwin University and the Department of Education to strengthen higher education opportunities in the NT, providing excellent and practical courses for our young people.
• Work with federal Ministers to secure the right international student numbers for CDU and Darwin, and secure appropriate funding overall. 
• Grow CDU's capacity to produce excellent research in regionally-relevant fields, supporting our outstanding researchers, teaching and support staff.
• Support international students by ensuring visas are accessible and local services are in place.
